Friday July 11 – Seek Him whole-heartedly
Come and worship
Our God who does not conceal Himself from us, but longs for us to come to Him. “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13
Meditate on His Word Galatians 1:6-12, Philippians 3:7-14
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10
Seeking Christ whole-heartedly involves exposing our pride and brings our priorities into eternal perspective. The things we tend to value in life- our credentials, our position at work, our accomplishments, and our image in the eyes of others- though important to us, are ultimately insignificant in the light of eternity. Jesus has called us as His followers to something more, humble dependence on Him alone. He has asked us to lay down
all the ways we have measured ourselves, compared ourselves, considered ourselves successes, or failures. He asks us to give it all up in exchange for what matters to Him.
Reflect and give thanks
Consider your relationship to Christ. What do the patterns of your life tell you that you value? Are your priorities in life here on earth overshadowing your desire for abundant life in Christ? How does your focus reflect Christ to those around you? Thank the Lord for His goodness as we press on…
To ignite within us a desire to seek Him with our whole hearts, holding nothing back.
To break down our excuses for not seeking Him fully; and where there is sin- compel us to seek forgiveness.
To forgive and redirect us where we have allowed pride or image to keep us from following Him in complete submission, and from growing deeper in our faith.
To help us to live an honest and authentic faith, not being discouraged by our imperfections, especially in the presence of the people in our lives who do not know Him.
