Thursday August 14 – Prayer for children- Father to the fatherless

2014 Summer of Prayer

Posted on: August 14, 2014

Come and worship

God is a father to the fatherless and has adopted us as his children for a glorious inheritance, what a blessing it is to be a child of God!

Meditate on His Word Psalm 68:4-6a
Sing to God, sing praises to His name; lift up a song to Him who rides through the deserts; His name is the Lord; exult before Him! Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in His holy habitation. God settles the solitary in a home…vv. 4b-6a

Around the world children without parents or family are in desperate need of love and attention, food and shelter. Likewise, even in our own backyard we have children whose parents are out of the picture whether living or not. Some children are adopted, others are in foster care, and some live with relatives.

Reflect and give thanks

Take time in silence to remember and give thanks for the joy of your happy childhood home if you had such, or meditate on finding peace and contentment if your childhood was lacking a mom and/or a dad. Give thanks for His love and concern for you and children everywhere.

Ask God

Please pray for orphans and those who care for them.
Pray for orphans near and far as well as their adoptive and foster parents, kinship-care providers, and other caregivers.
Please pray that each orphan will find the blessings of a home, a mom and and a dad who love them, and the love found in God the Father through knowing Jesus Christ.
