Thursday July 24 – Prayer for Cambodia- to free and heal the children

2014 Summer of Prayer

Posted on: July 24, 2014

Come and worship
Abba Father, we praise you for being the father to the fatherless and bringing healing to
the brokenhearted. We worship you because you bring hope to the hopeless and fill our
hearts with all-surpassing peace. You are worthy of our praise and adoration.

Meditate on His Word Psalm 34:17-18, Zechariah 7:9-10
When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:17-18
It is becoming very common in Cambodia for children who have families to be taken as
orphans and placed in ‘orphanages’. The children are exploited and used for financial
profit. Many children (mostly young girls) are also sold into sex slavery and trafficked
to Bangkok in hopes of receiving income to help their family. The situation in Cambodia
is devastating and heart wrenching. However, we know our awesome God cares about
these precious children and is working despite the corruption that is so prevalent.

Reflect and give thanks
Take time to reflect on God’s power and healing love that can break the bondage of
sin, and bring freedom and healing to those in Cambodia. Thank Him for the ways He
is already working and for His sacrificial love He poured out on the cross that gives us
freedom.

Ask God
Pray for God’s truth to penetrate the hearts of the Cambodian people.
Pray that justice will prevail and hearts will be changed.
Pray for the children who are victims of these crimes; that they will be comforted and set
free. Pray for those who are working to rescue these children; for wisdom, courage and
strength.
