Thursday July 31 – Prayer for Mexico- God’s work in Reynosa
Come and worship
We thank you Lord for your deep, unfailing love for all people. Thank you that everyone who calls on your name will be saved.
Meditate on His Word Jeremiah 32:27, 2 Corinthians 9:1-15, Romans 10:10-1…for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:12, 13
Iglesia Bautista Luz Divina (Divine Light Baptist Church) in Reynosa, Mexico is consistently and faithfully representing Christ in a very needy, under-resourced part of the world in a colonia named Renacimiento – “Rebirth”. They are building the Kingdom of God with dramatically fewer resources than most North American churches, holding out new life and new hope in Christ. Pastor Desiderio has faithfully served his community for many, many years along with his wife and children. As one of the few buildings
in the area with a meeting area, Luz Divina opens themselves to the needs of the community. The meeting room has helped them continue to be the light in this struggling neighborhood.
Reflect and give thanks
Take a few moments to be silent before the Lord reflecting on the ways He is working in Reynosa. Thank Him for faithful servants all over the world. Thank Him for his love to all people everywhere. Thank Him for the generous body of Christ who had been taught to share with those around them no matter where they live.
Pray for encouragement for Pastor Desiderio and his family – for his strength and renewal as they work in this uncertain and challenging environment.
Pray for their outreach efforts – maintaining a “Feed My Sheep” a breakfast program for children in the colonia; Youth ministry growth and leadership, continued construction efforts on their building
Pray for American church partnerships – Pray for courage and strength for the supporting churches and for new partnerships.
Pray for the hearts of the people – Intercede for Luz Divina as they bring the message of God’s love to the people of Reynosa and that they find hope and new life in Christ.
