Tuesday July 8 God’s Desire – relationship with Him

2014 Summer of Prayer

Posted on: July 8, 2014

Come and worship

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. All things were created through him and for him.

Meditate on His Word Colossians 1:15-20, Romans 8:12-17
‘For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

God desires for us to see Him as our Father, for us to cling to Him not only in times of struggle or in times of grief; but in time of joy. The relationship he calls us into is because of His deep love for us as all things created through him and for him. He desires that same relationship with your neighbors and coworkers and has put you in a place to be a witness for Him, for His name and His fame.

Reflect and give thanks

We are fearfully and wonderfully made. Made in the image of God to bear His image, clothed in the righteousness of Jesus our King. Reflect on the evidence of His grace in your life and give thanks for what He has done and for Him being ever-present to hear your cries and your joy. Think about your friends and neighbors and occasional acquaintances

Ask God

To work in the lives of others that you are trying to reach with His gospel, that He would help them see that there is purpose to their creation that they have a Father that longs to have a relationship with them, that they would understand the gospel message is a message of joy and hope and not of condemnation or fear.
