Wednesday July 16 – Prayer for the grieving and those who walk with them
2014 Summer of Prayer
Come and worship
God, who is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1
Meditate on His Word Romans 12:15, Matthew 5:4, 11:28,
Psalm 119:50
Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26
Reflect and give thanks
We grieve lost opportunities, lost relationships, lost health, and the death of those we love. Give thanks that we are not alone as we experience loss and grief in our lives. There is One, the Lord Himself, who knows our heartache and is with us. He has also made us part of His family and gives us comfort through His word and His people.
Ask God
To bring comfort to the hurting and rest to the ones exhausted from pain in mind and body.
To be near to those who are grieving and suffering and give strength through His Word. To strengthen failing hearts through those who support and help them.
To use us, His people, to lift up those who grieve and suffer, and open our eyes to ways we can come alongside the hurting and reflect His love to them.
