Wednesday July 9 Encouragement for single living
There are two July 9th options one is focused on marriage and one is focus on the single life. Choose which one fits where you are in life. Encouragement for marriages.
Come and worship
Our Lord who is Faithful and True. He is the One who has begun a good work in us and He will carry it on to completion. Philippians 1:6
Meditate on His Word 1 Corinthians 7:32, 34, Jeremiah 29:11-13, John 15:5-17
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future… You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11&13
According to recent statistics, almost 45% of American adults are single or single again and many are choosing to remain that way. Living a single life can be a beautiful gift from God, one that is reserved for people for whom the Lord has special plans- purposes that married people are not free to accomplish. Paul, in 1 Corinthians 7:7-8 talks about his own singleness as a gift; “I wish that all men were as I am. But each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.” No matter what our marital status, what is central to our hearts is to surrender completely to Jesus, finding who we are in Him, and trusting in His great plans for us. 4
Reflect and give thanks
Have you asked the Lord recently what His plans are for you? Have you thanked Him for your freedom to follow wherever He may lead? Give thanks to the Lord for His unchanging love that is not determined by our outward circumstances.
Recommit your heart to Him today, trusting Him to bring the best for you in this life. Pray for others who you know may be struggling with their single-ness. Ask the Lord to grant them peace and a new vision for their lives.
