What is Repentance?

Repentance is you turning to God and Him turning back to you. This is the message of Deuteronomy 28-30. Imprint Church in Woodinville kicked off a our new Undiscovered sermon series this week with a look at the book of Deuteronomy. While the Undiscovered series is going to focus on the minor prophets in the Old Testament, Pastor Darren Larson kicked off this series with a look how Deutoronomy lays the groundwork for these prophets. Key Points from this Sermon The main theme of our sermon on Deuteronomy was repentance. Here are a list of the supporting points along with the point in the recording where you can learn more. God has always been about building a Kingdom of people who reflect his character, values, ethics, and community. (7:15) The Old Testament gives Israel the picture of a Kingdom that will be redeemed because that Redeemer will come. The prophets leads us to Jesus. (14:00) The primary function of the prophets was to call people to obedience and dependence upon God, and to help them remember God’s plan. (21:00) You can join God in his mission to be blessed and be a blessing, or you can work against Him and see what happens when you’re on your own. (27:00) You can choose life in the midst of brokenness. After you turn and repent(shuv), you can choose life going forward. (42:20)

From Series: "Undiscovered"

Undiscovered… The Parts of the Bible You’ve Never Read! In this 2013/2014 sermon series, studied what bible teachers call the “Minor Prophets”. This wasn’t because they were unimportant, or because they only had minor things to say to us, but rather because they are short in length. The minor prophets make up the last 12 books in the Old Testament. These books have mystery, intrigue, scandal, plot twist, and more! We talked about why prophets do such weird things. What does the downfall of an ancient civilization have to do with our lives? And why is there so much judgment in their messages? Join us as we unlock the messages in the minor prophets and look at how they relate to our lives today.
