Imprint Bothell Building Project Update

THE GLACIER MOVES

Hey Imprint Church. We wanted to provide a few exciting updates on the Bothell Building Project. You can watch the video below or keep reading to learn more.
Earlier this summer, we submitted applications for permits for the parking lot and the building. We told the you that this would move at the speed of a glacier, because permitting can often take years to go through.

The first bit of movement in this glacier began a couple months ago. There was a long and deep semi-truck pull-though running down the middle of the warehouse, which was used for shipping years ago.  We affectionately called this “The Trench of Broken Dreams.”
One of our own Imprint guys, Randy Shatto, led a team of volunteers to get the trench ready for filling. And just a few weeks ago he packed it full of dirt and gravel and then filled it with concrete. “The Trench of Broken Dreams" became “The Path of Boundless Hopes.”
And surprisingly, the Glacier is gaining speed. The county has already approved our plans for both the parking lot and the building. It’s not uncommon to have to wait a couple years for this, but the Lord moves glaciers as well as mountains!

WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

This news allows us to share a few updates about potential timelines and finances.
Here’s a picture from a few Sunday mornings ago at Bothell.
People were parking on the grass because there was no more space in the parking lot. The rain has started, and parking on the grass will tear up the field and turn into a mud pit. Because of this, we are having to turn cars around to park up in the neighborhood. We just don’t have enough room, and drainage is bad.

So, we would love to start on the new parking lot in the Summer of 2025 when the weather is dry. As we said in our original updates, we will only do this if we have the money.

Right now, if everyone who pledged to support the project in April gives what and when they said they’d give, we’d have about $800,000 by June 2025. That means we’d be about $600,000 short for what we need. We won’t take a loan to do it. We’ll only move forward on the parking lot when the money is in is hand. We’d love to start the work next summer, but if we have to wait until 2026, we will.

With that in mind, we humbly ask for your help in moving this project forward.
  • If you’ve already pledged and have given or are still giving—thank you!
  • If you’re new to Imprint since we started all this and you’d like to partner with us in the project, we invite you do that now.
  • If you’ve been at Imprint but didn’t get on the glacier-train this past spring and you’d like to do that now— you totally can.
  • If now that you know it’s possible for us to get the parking lot started sooner than anticipated, and you CAN give you pledge sooner — or you CAN give more than you originally pledged, you’re welcome to do that as well.

If you want to pledge toward the project for the first time, go to the “Generosity” tab on our website , and click on “Imprint Bothell Building Project.”  Or, simply click the button below.

If you want to adjust your pledge or pay it sooner, please email our executive lead Jenny Bossio.

ONE MORE UPDATE:

Right now we’re gathering bids from different construction companies that are interested in doing the warehouse remodel for us. Please pray for us in this  process. And let’s remember to thank the Lord for giving us this amazing gift of a building for making and multiplying grateful and generous disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
