One Church in Three Locations
ONE CHURCH IN THREE LOCATIONS
Hey Imprint Family,
We have been praying as a church family for the members of Kenmore Community Church and their decision about an adoption by Imprint Church. We prayed again yesterday as the members of Kenmore Community Church gathered to vote after their worship gathering. Our prayer has not been for a particular outcome but for clarity as they discuss and unity as they decide.
God has answered that prayer by leading the Kenmore Community Members to approve the motion to merge with a 95% “yes” vote. Later this Summer, Kenmore Community Church will have a final worship service to celebrate what God has done in and through their church and honor Pastor Mark and his wife (and the worship leader) Mary Beth Rogers before they retire. Kenmore Community Church will then transfer their assets to Imprint Church and, Lord willing, we will plant “Imprint Church in Kenmore.”
This is an exciting and unusual time for our church! Church plants don’t typically receive the gift of a debt-free property to start with. It will be a year full of transitions, challenges, energy, and new life. This will not be easy, but we believe that the God who calls us to hard things will be with us and sustain us in those hard things.
We will keep you updated as things unfold and will discuss the concrete plans at this year’s Family Meeting on Sunday, March 16th. Until then, please be praying for our church - for the decisions that need to be made, the tasks that must be accomplished, the people who will be a part of the launch team for Imprint Church in Kenmore, the people who will stay at our locations in Bothell and Woodinville, and the people in Kenmore that God wants to reach with the gospel. We want to follow where God is leading and do what he calls us to in a way that is wise. That won’t happen if we are not praying together.
We also want to be sensitive to the complex feelings of the Kenmore community. While there is unity in the decision, and the energy of a church plant is exciting, the end of Kenmore Community Church brings with it a sense of loss. Please continue to pray for the leaders and members of Kenmore Community Church as they process their decision and move forward together.
We are committed to telling people the good news of Jesus Christ, inviting them into relationship, and seeing God transform them into grateful and generous disciples. We are grateful that he is giving us an opportunity to do that in Kenmore.
If you have any questions, please send an email to elders@imprintchurch.org.
Together in Jesus,
