Imprint Bothell Parking Lot Update - May 2025
Hey Imprint Family,
A few weeks ago, we gave an update about the Imprint Bothell Building Project. Below you can read about what was shared and what is coming up next for our Bothell building!
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will travel to such and such a city and spend a year there and do business and make a profit.’ Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring—what your life will be! For you are like vapor that appears for a little while, then vanishes. Instead, you should say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” (James 4:13-15)
This passage from the book of James is what led us to ask the Lord if he would allow us to build the new parking lot at Bothell this summer. Since receiving the Bothell property as a gift from the Lord, we have intentionally never said things like “We’re going to solve our space problem by renovating the warehouse,” or, “We’re going to put in the new parking lot this year.” We have been saying “If the Lord wills, we will renovate the warehouse and build a new parking lot.”
The way we sought to discern the Lord’s will about the project was to ask you, the church, if you thought this was a good way to use our space, and if so, would you support the work financially? And collectively, you said “Yes!” For that we are so grateful.
We said that we would move forward with the parking lot when we had the needed $1.4 million in the bank. We set May 1 as the decision date for whether we would be able to begin this year or if we would have to wait until 2026. Recently, we reviewed the project and identified ways to reduce the initial cost to $1.25 million by postponing nonessential items like plants and lighting.
By the end of 2024, you had given over $800,000. Our projections for 2025 giving indicated we’d likely be short of our goal amount on May 1. We brought this info before you recently and asked people that pledged to consider speeding up their giving if it was possible and for others to consider donating if they hadn’t already. By early April, we went over $1 million in donations to the building project fund. With just a few weeks left before May 1, we announced that we’d need $200,000 more to move ahead this summer.
Over the last few weeks, you donated over $280k more, bringing the building fund total to $1.3 million. We are fully funded for the parking lot! Lord willing, construction will begin in mid-June! Thank you so much for your generosity! And thank you, LORD!
It is satisfying to say “If the Lord wills, we will do this,” and then move forward with confidence that it is indeed his will. Thank you for being integral to this process of discerning the Lord’s will for Imprint Church!
If you have any questions, as we await the start of the Parking Lot Project, feel free to send an email to our elders at elders@imprintchurch.org.
Blessings in Christ,
The Imprint Church Team
